“No One You Know”

June 3, 2009

Artist Blue Mcright has created some very intriguing oil on paper works using (strangely enough) trailer park life as her inspiration. She says of her work…

“There used to be a trailer parked in Venice upon which was flatly stated in cheap stick-on letters that its occupant was “no one you know”.

This terse phrase and its layered notions of identity, anonymity, and personal space instantly fascinated me, as did its trailer context – disguising its owner and embodying the ambiguous condition of mobility and constraint.”

Hi, it’s Blue – thanks for writing about my show! Only thing is; I’m not a “he”!

How horrilbly sexist of me! I apologize greatly and will promptly fix the error and give myself 50 lashes.

Thanks for the slap and good luck to you, I admire your talent.
